"Thank you for your caring and respect in my Reiki appointment, my left shoulder and neck had significantly less pain as well as swelling which has lasted through today. I can move my neck and shoulder with greater range of motion.   It has also allowed me sound sleep due to less pain and swelling."

      Tai Chi Qigong Reduces Stress
In their latest survey The American Psychological Association reports that 50 percent of Americans are stressed about their ability to provide for their family.  53 percent reported fatigue, 60 percent reported feelings of irritability or anger, and 52 percent reported difficulty sleeping as a result of stress.  Research has already identified the link between stress and the six leading causes of death—heart disease, cancer, lung ailments, accidents, cirrhosis of the liver, and suicide.

We as humans were created with a central nervous system designed to create a fight or flight response whicresults in dilated pupils, decreased digestion, increased heart rate, increased breathing rate, and the shunting of blood to muscles for anticipated  increased activity. We no longer flee for our lives from wild beasts or other primitive dangers but we do experience hundreds of other stressors everyday in our new modern society.  The fact is our body and central nervous system still reacts to stress in the same way.

If we are not able to balance ourselves and somehow reduce the stress in our life our overly stimulated sympathetic nervous system, will start to exhibit many chronic symptoms such as, high blood pressure, diabetes, insomnia, stomach ulcer, migraine, anxiety, emotional problems … etc One way to reduce stress is to counteract our overly stimulated sympathetic nervous system (flight or fight response) by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest).    The deep abdominal breathing, gentle tai chi movements and alpha (very calm and relaxing) mind state of Tai Chi Qigong can achieve just that.  Practicing Shibashi Tai Chi Qigong activates our parasympathetic nervous system, thus balancing the overly stimulated sympathetic nervous system.  That’s why Qigong is so effective when dealing with chronic problems.   You Tube Testimonial

Tai Chi Qigong - A Low Impact Aerobic Workout

Aerobic exercise refers to a fitness regime that improves the overall oxygen consumption by the body.  A few of the health benefits include reduced stress, decreased body fat, blood pressure and cholesterol as well as an overall improvement in your health and vitality.  In addition to increasing your Qi, clearing blockages in the meridians Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi Set I is also a low impact exercise for people of all ages and fitness levels.  Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi Set II is a bit more intense and can be considered a medium aerobic exercise bringing your Maximum Heart Rate (MHR) within the ‘Endurance Zone’ helping to build heart/lung capacity, stamina and endurance in addition to all the previous mentioned health benefits.

Tai Chi Qigong Can Treat and Prevent Many Diseases
According to the Chinese Health Qigong Association and other sources statistically, as we are living longer the number of people suffering from asthma, cancer, osteoporosis, stroke, diabetes, Alzheimer's
disease, Parkinson's disease, cataracts and a plethora of other conditions proportionately increase with age.  Being a self-healing holistic therapy technique Qigong has been known to treat many of the above mentioned conditions. Qigong can not only treat one major condition, but all of them at the same time.

There were many studies done in China in the last 30 years on the effects of Qigong in preventing disease. Typically, scientists would randomly select several hundred to several thousand people who regularly practice Qigong for a period of say two to three years and then, after having them medically examined, they would compare their findings with another group of as many randomly selected people who do not practice Qigong. Many such studies were done on people aged sixty and over and they would always, without exception, confirm definite positive health benefits that Qigong practice offers. The larger the number of people researched, the clearer the results.  Among other parameters, they would include their body weight, blood pressure, sight, hearing, bone density, flexibility, cholesterol levels, blood sugar levels, as well as monitor how often they get sick from flu, cold, migraine, backache, etc.  After taking all these factors into consideration, it becomes quite apparent that people who regularly practice Qigong are not only much healthier, but can also see better, hear better, are more mobile, flexible and do not catch cold, get flu and the like as often.  Not only that, among those who have practiced Qigong for many years, there were quite a few of those who had their teeth still intact, had perfect sight and hearing and maintained their natural hair colour (without dyes of course). And because their skin becomes lustrous and firm, they even look younger.
